This activity is developed within the framework of “European Digital Treasures” project, that aims at bringing joint European heritage, and especially its digital versions, major visibility, outreach and use.

Goal of Competition

To encourage natural or legal persons based in Hungary, Norway, Malta, Portugal or Spain to send short documentary or animated short documentary projects based on one or more of the 60 archival documents related to the Construction of Europe that appear in our Gallery and that contribute towards the construction of the European identity. Best projects will be funded for their production.

Desired Outcome

The objective of the call is the funding and production of several documentaries. The films can either be a documentary (between 13 and 30 minutes) or an animated documentary (between 3 and 15 minutes). The results will be presented in the last quarter of 2022 at the annual convention of the International Centre for Archival Research (ICARUS).

Winning project candidates:

will sign a contract with the National Archive responsible in each partner country (Hungary, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Spain) for the production of the short documentary or short animated documentary.

will also be invited to an international encounter in Cork, Ireland, organised by Munster Technological University (MTU), taking place 20-22 April 2022, with the rest of the winners.
